Sonetel’s revenues have grown with about 300% from December 2011 to May 2012.

From April to May revenues grew with 36%.

Sonetel now has paying customers in 115 countries and registered company accounts in more than 200 countries.

The number of registered, activated company accounts was today 40,555.  And we are have about 200 new customers signing up every day.

The total number of people that have signed up is actually significantly larger, but we have found that some accounts have not been activated, and many accounts get blocked for suspected fraud attempts. Naturally it doesn’t make sense to count these – which is why the number of registered customer accounts that we will be reporting moving forward will exclude any such accounts .

The exceptional growth has naturally created some challenges for us to keep up with support questions from new customers.

During the last 2 months we have therefore increased our support team with 400%!

This implies that we have a number of great new talents on the team – that are still a bit new in the game. So we may still need to ask for your patience in getting responses from our support team. We currently get about 2,000 emails per month to our support team – mainly with questions about how things work, or what the price is – but since people can use our service in any environment with any type of 3rd party phones, behind any type of firewalls etc, there are naturally situations where new problems occur that need to be investigated and resolved by our engineering team. So we are resolving these “special cases” one by one, so that new customers never will need to experience the same problem.

Our joint announcement with Voxbone – that Sonetel will give free iNum numbers to all Sonetel users – has been picked up by more than 250 news sites!

The majority of the sites are US based.

We have today lowered our price for making calls to 624 destinations worldwide with between 22% and 93%.

Examples:

• Chile +56 (88) lowered with 86%
• UK business numbers +44 (845) lowered with 93%

We had customers contacting us saying that we were expensive on these destinations - despite the fact that we already used the best price available from multiple carriers on both destinations.

We investigated if we could find another partner for handling these specific destinations – and found an additional that also met our quality requirements.

We are quite picky about the partners we use since we have stringent quality requirements. We want the audio quality to be perfect (uncompressed) and that the phone number of the caller should be shown properly to the person called. This means that we have to turn down a lot of offers from carriers that may be able to offer cheap calls – but not with the quality we require.

Please let us know if there is any destination worldwide where we are not competitive, and we will find additional partners to drive down the cost there as well.

Sonetel is now providing a free iNum phone number to every user of the Sonetel phone system.
